Under The Bed
Don’t trust a new site right away when you go there. Take a second to really look around. Open a few major pages to see what they offer, who they say they are, and how to get in touch with them. A normal, honest site normally doesn’t hide anything like that.
Pay attention to how it acts. Do the websites load without any problems? Are the menus working as you thought they would? Are the pictures real, the explanations clear, and the prices fair? Or does everything seem rushed and half-empty? You should know that your first impression is more important than you think.
Going outside the site for a moment can also assist. Look up the name. Are they on social media? Is there a place where people are discussing about them? You can learn a lot from just a few authentic postings or comments.
Don’t go all in on the first try if you ever want to buy something or ask for a service. Start off small and see how it goes. It’s like putting your toe in the water before you leap in.
It’s a good idea to take pictures of crucial stuff, such what they promised, how much it would cost, and what the regulations were. Not because you think there will be problems, but because it’s helpful to have proof if something changes quickly.
And when you pay, choose ways that will safeguard you if something goes wrong. There are cards and services like PayPal for a purpose. Sending money directly is usually a larger risk.
